Busy Burger in Chicago’s University Village Review

Busy Burger is located at 1120 W. Taylor Street in University Village has handmade burgers, handspun shakes and fresh-cut fries. Seasoned restaurateur Joseph De Vito, also managing partner of Chicago’s Gold-Coast hotspot Jellyfish, journeyed back to his Little Italy roots to re-invent his first restaurant—one he opened 25 years ago at just 18 years of age.

A newly-designed sleek setting features white tiles, wood trimmings and neon green accents, with intimate seating for 35. Busy Burger’s creative menu is simple and fresh, offering only the finest of ingredients.

If you love a good burger, enjoy their namesake with choices of all natural beef or turkey, topped with leaf lettuce, tomato, onion, dill pickle and Busy Burger’s signature secret-recipe spicy busy sauce on a butter toasted bun; or skip the bun and Wrap It in leaf lettuce. Additional premium toppings include American, Wisconsin cheddar, Swiss, and pepper Jack cheeses for only 59 cents each; and grilled jalapeno; BBQ sauces; fried egg; smoked bacon; and avocado for 99 cents each.

Indulge in the Beef or Turkey Stuffed Burger, filled with a half-pound of all-natural beef or turkey stuffed with Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, Wisconsin cheddar and smoked bacon. Or, try the pop-them-in-your-mouth Mini Burgers at $2.99 each. Get ‘em by the Pack: the 6 Pack is $14.99; 12 Pack is $29.99; and 24 Pack is $59.99.

Sandwiches include: Chicken BLT, all-natural chicken breast, leaf lettuce, tomato, smoked bacon and spicy busy sauce; plus the Portobello, Tofu and Fishsandwiches, served on a butter toasted bun or wrapped in lettuce. A true Chicago-Style Hot Dog also is a favorite.

There is nothing quite like hand-cut French fries, tossed in Busy Burger’s house dressing; as well as Cheddar Fries; and Busy Blob Fries, topped with creamy Wisconsin cheddar and beef chili. Among other house specialties are hand-cut Onion Rings; Pizza Puff, stuffed with sausage, mozzarella and pizza sauce; andJose’s Homemade Chili and Soups. Busy Burger knows how to shake things up…with its homespun Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Pina Colada and Spotted Cow Shakes.

Busy Burger is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. until midnight.
